The Athinais Cultural Centre occupies 5,000 m2 between Votanikos and Kerameikos. It is an area where “art meets everyday life”, as it is its motto. The area hosts events and conferences halls, restaurants, bars, cafes and a concert hall, but also a gallery (Museum of Diachronic Art) where a lot of interesting exhibitions have been hosted. Of particular interest is the history of the building, which brings us back to 1920, when a silk factory was housed there. Since then, a lot of changes took place, until the last decade when Athinais was transformed into a centre of creation, communication and activity, while maintaining the industrial character of its façade. Nowadays, the project Athinais Tower Loft is under development, an area of 9,000 m2, which will host 72 luxurious lofts with excellent view to the Acropolis.
