The architect Ernst Ziller, perhaps at its most important work, which combines elements from the Italian neo-Renaissance architecture and the Athenian Neoclassicalism. It is characterized by lightness and elegance with particular impressive decoration that shows Schliemann’s love for Greece, Homer and Troy. Since 1998 the mansion hosts the Numismatic Museum.
