Most of the municipalities of northern Attica started as small resort settlements and gradually evolved. They owe their development to the unique landscape, the green areas and the wonderful beaches with the deep blue waters, most of which with a view to the Euboean Gulf, and the fertile land. At the area there are agricultural cultivations and a lot of children’s summer camps. Points of interest are the sanctuary Amphiareion at Kalamos, the traditional taverns at Grammatiko, the archaeological site of Ramnous and the beaches at Sesi.
