The church of Agios Dimitrios was erected in 1806 over the ruins of an older church of the 17th century while the bell tower and the right aisle were constructed in 1835 and in 1973 respectively. The basilica is known for the despotic throne and the pulpit works of Yannoulis Chalepas, the eight large paintings by Polychronis Lembesis and the tomb of Karaiskakis.
