This two-storied building is one of the very few surviving examples of Ottoman architecture in Athens. After the Greek Revolution it hosted the first hotel of the city with the symbolic name “Europe”. Then it housed the 2nd High School, the Athens Garrison Headquarters and hosted families of refugees from Asia Minor. In 1959 it was bought by the National Bank of Greece and since 1984, after an extended renovation it has housed the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank.
