Mount Ellanion, Temple of Zeus
According to the legend, Aeacus pleaded with Zeus to send rain and stop the drought. Zeus did that and Aeacus, to show his gratitude, built a temple in its honor. From the building that stands on the highest mountain of Aegina survive only some ruins, while there is also the small church of the Ascension. From Mount Ellanion you can enjoy a truly spectacular view of the Saronic Gulf.
