The erection of the Likiardopoulou Mansion in 1933 caused intense reactions. Cartoons from that time present the five-storied building as a skyscraper standing with insolence in front of Olympieion and obstructs the view from the Acropolis. The building is located at 36 Amalias Avenue and was designed by Konstantinos Kiriakidis and during the German occupation it was used for feeding and assisting those that were pursued by the Germans. Today it hosts special events.
