Port of Lavrio
The third largest port of Attica operates as a centre for the transportation of passengers, vehicles and merchandise as well as for ships. There are ships to Kavala, Limnos, Agios Efstratios, Kea and Kithnos. Recently there were large investments in recreating and modernizing the port but the effort to establish it into the first passenger port of the country, probably due to the dependency of the companies on the port of Piraeus. It is connected through a bus of the prefecture of Attica with the airport and the centre of Athens.
