The goddess Athena is presented with austerity in the expression, stable and still but ready for battle holding a spear and a shield. The statue stands on a triangle column 6 meters high which in its turn is based on a pedestal that is placed on a marble lion. The sculpture is dedicated to the British, the Australians and New Zealanders who lost their lives fighting in Greece during World War II. This work by Vassos Falireas was made in 1952.
