Part of the project Unification of Athens Archaeological Sites for the promotion of the monuments of the city, the pedestrian zone was inaugurated just before the Olympic Games of 2004. It is a wide and paved street that leads from the Asomaton Square to Thiseio at one of the most beautiful and most important archaeological sites in Athens, at the cemetery of Kerameikos. It is surrounded by green slopes with a clear view to the Attic sky and the Acropolis.
