The house of the important folklore scientist Angeliki Chatzimichali in Plaka houses the Centre of Folk Art and Tradition of the City of Athens. The building is a beautiful example of the elitist architecture of the period between the world wars, the only surviving work of the architect Aristotelis Zachos. At the museum there is a folklore library and a reading hall with books and magazines relevant to ethnography, folk art, the tradition and the literature of the Greek area and the Balkans.
