Samples from the Urals, minerals from Tyrol and precious stones from Siberia were the first acquisitions of the collection of the Mineralogy and Petrology Museum which started its operation in 1835. Nowadays, the museum possesses more than 25,000 samples while 3.500 of those are presented in modern showcases, but also antiques of the 19th century. Educational programs provide the little visitors with the opportunity to play “making” or “finding” rocks. The museum is housed at the University Campus in Zografou.
