National Archaeological Museum






The largest museum in Greece and one of the most important all over the world, it includes more than 20,000 masterpieces, which create a complete picture of the ancient Greek civilization, from the beginning of prehistory to late antiquity. It has, among others, the rare collection of prehistoric antiquities with the impressive findings from the royal tombs in Mycenae, one of the most important collections of sculptures in the world, vases, miniature art, and the unique inn Greece collection of Egyptian and oriental antiquities. It is housed at the impressive neoclassical building of the 19th century, the work of the architects L. Lange and E. Ziller, at Patission street.
