At the top of Kolonaki, at the basis of Lycabettus, is Dexamenis square. It took its name from the famous aqueduct of the Roman emperor Hadrian. The square is a small opening at the urban web surrounded by green areas and a green hill. A hermitage at the centre of the city. Important literary men frequented its café like Souris, Papadiamantis, Varnalis, Kazantzakis and Elitis.
